On October 17, 2019 over 20 school Counselors and Career Navigators boarded a school bus and went on a Manufacturer's Tour. The goal of the field trip was for school counselors and navigators to see first-hand what the process and requirements are to be career-ready at their facilities. The manufacturing facilities toured were G3 Enterprises, Stanislaus Foods, Pacific Southwest Container and Volt Institute. Educators had the opportunity to ask questions from managers for what they are seeking in a job-ready young adult. What skills are valued, income potential and career growth.
SPIE will continue to create opportunities for educators to connect with the industries that are in-demand and ready to train students leaving high school. We thank SCOE, Modesto Junior College & Modesto City Schools for partnering with us on this field trip.
