"SPIE, economic events illustrate positive steps toward controlling our future" Modesto Bee -Brian Clark, August 25, 2019

"At Tuesday’s SPIE event, where interns and business leaders discussed their experiences, I listened to one educator’s time working in Josh Harder’s office, receiving a great understanding of the myriad things that take place behind the scenes to support our Congressman and how to manage phone calls from prickly constituents.
It was something she already had taken back to her government class.
Another spoke of her time at Gallo, fascinated by all that makes that company operate and what she could bring back to students who might not be on the college track but would certainly be great candidates to take advantage of a growing technical career in manufacturing."

As we face unprecedented times, many families may be looking for support while sheltering-in-place. Below are some links to sites that can help give you more information on where to find emergency dental care or how to talk to your children about their anxiety during these difficult times, among many other resources.

Golden Valley Health Centers- are strong advocates for improving the quality of life for all Central Valley residents. We commit to supporting a variety of programs that enhance good health and positivity throughout the region. GVHC offer telephonic visits for Medical and Behavior Health and urgent dental visits. People can call or text 866-682-4842 for appointments. They offer COVID10 testing for their patients. They accept private insurance and Medical and have a sliding fee if people do not have insurance.
Haven Women’s Center- Phone services are still available from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm for counseling, case management, and restraining order assistance. For Phone Services, please call 209-779-4459. If this is an emergency or you are seeking emergency shelter, please call our 24 hours crisis line at 209-577-5980

Modesto City Schools Support Hotline: Is your child an MCS student?  There are a variety of social emotional supports available to students. If you feel your student would benefit from talking with someone about how they are feeling, help is available on the Information Hotline, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at 209-492-6000, or reach out to your child’s teacher. We will make sure to provide your student the support they need.
Break The Cycle: This website has information on how to stay safe if you are in an abusive home. Home may not be a safe place if you are experiencing relationship violence or dating abuse. Even with closures and scaled-back services, there is still help out there, especially for those who need emergency services.
Love is Respect:While people are encouraged to stay at home, you may feel isolated from your friends and family. Even if you are isolated, try to maintain social connections online or over the phone, if it is safe to do so, and try to stick to your daily routines as much as possible. For any victims and survivors who need support, we are here for you, 24/7. Call 1-800-799-7233 or 1-800-787-3224 for TTY, or if you’re unable to speak safely, you can log onto thehotline.org or text LOVEIS to 22522.
COVID-19 Family Counseling Program: Legacy Health Endowment, First Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center, and A Step Forward, A Path to Wellness have launched the COVID-19 Family Counseling Program to provide virtual mental health services to Merced and Stanislaus County residents up to 25 years old during the Coronavirus Pandemic.
